What? Were you expecting a birth announcement?

40 weeks, 5 days, and counting …

The bags are packed.

The cradle is assembled.

The onesies are washed.

The car seat is installed.

The diapers have been purchased.

The room is ready.

My husband has threatened to take the phone off the hook.

My mother-in-law has been reprimanded (and has taken to calling my parents for updates instead).

Christopher is starting to think that this ‘baby’ thing is all just a hoax.

I am starting to think he may be right.

The induction has been scheduled for Monday.

And then moved to Tuesday (because, what the hell, what’s another day at this point?).

I have begun to seriously consider downing a bottle of castor oil.

Any time now, kid … (except for the middle of the night. I really don’t want to go into labor at 3 a.m. … so any reasonable hour now, kid!)

No freaking WAY!! UGH!!!! You must be going insane!! I tried the castor oil (not a whole bottle mind you) as directed by MY DOCTOR...and it did absolutely nothing. It is so nasty, I urge you not to be that desperate. Have sex, but DO NOT, I repeat, DO NOT TAKE THE CASTOR OIL!!

Okay, it's Monday, and if you still haven't popped that kid out...Good luck. Sending birth inducing thoughts your way. (not that they would help, I had to have an emergency induction at 38 wks. Not too make you feel worse or anything....)
